Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) has raised alarm over China’s expansion of colonial-style boarding schools in Tibet, particularly in the Ngaba region. Over 1,700 young monks from monasteries in Amdo have been forced to leave monastic life and enrolled in these schools, where they undergo political indoctrination and are prohibited from practicing Tibetan culture and religion. Local authorities threaten families with harsh penalties for resisting. The CTA calls for international intervention to protect Tibetan identity and cultural freedom.
