Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile Begins Budget Session for 2025-26

The 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile commenced its ninth session today in Dharamsala, India. Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel opened the session, addressing Tibet’s deteriorating situation and China’s restrictions on Tibetan students. He also highlighted the Dalai Lama’s new book, Voice for the Voiceless, which asserts his reincarnation will be outside China. Sikyong Penpa Tsering presented the CTA’s 2025-26 budget of Rs. 3675.30 million. The session also paid tribute to late global and Tibetan leaders. German MP Anna-Elisabeth and UK Tibet Support Group’s Kate attended as observers. The session will continues until March 31.
