Chinese authorities have raided Larang Tashi Khyil Monastery and nearby villages in Amdo, confiscating four large bags of photographs of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Tibet Times reported. Sources said no arrests occurred, but residents were frightened and coerced into surrendering the photos. Communication from the area has since been cut off. Beijing continues to enforce bans on the Dalai Lama’s photos, often replacing them with images of Chinese leaders.
