Obama Letter Honors Dalai Lama at Virginia Buddhist Center Inauguration

The Light of Nyingmapa Foundation formally inaugurated a new Dharma center in Vienna, Virginia, drawing over 200 attendees. Coinciding with celebrations for the 14th Dalai Lama's 90th birthday, the event featured a recorded message from His Holiness alongside an official congratulatory letter from former U.S. President Barack Obama. In his message, Obama praised the foundation's founder, Shartul Dhamchoe Rinpoche, for his dedication to humanitarian missions. He also lauded his enduring friendship with the Dalai Lama, calling the spiritual leader's global human rights contributions inspiring. Representatives from the Office of Tibet also attended the ceremony.
