Dalai Lama's Secretary Tenzin Taklha Honored With Prestigious Thiksey Medal

Tenzin Taklha, the longtime secretary to the Dalai Lama, has been awarded the prestigious Thiksey Medal for his decades of dedicated service to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan exile community. The award ceremony took place on May 20 in Ladakh during the 84th birthday celebrations of the 9th Thiksey Rinpoche. Taklha is only the second person to receive this specific honor, following the Dalai Lama in 2016. Since Taklha could not attend, his wife accepted the award on his behalf. The event gathered prominent local dignitaries and representatives from various Tibetan settlements to celebrate his quiet but highly impactful leadership.
