Representative Rigzin Genkhang, the Dalai Lama’s envoy at the Office of Tibet, addressed the Fifth Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC) Summit held in the European Parliament, Brussels, from November 7–8. Her presentation, “Erasing Identity: Contemporary Evidence of the Persecution of Tibetans,” detailed China’s ongoing repression in Chinese-occupied Tibet and efforts to erase Tibetan culture and religion. She urged lawmakers to adopt legislation mirroring the U.S. Tibetan Policy and Support Act and Resolve Tibet Act. The summit gathered over 60 lawmakers from 29 countries and concluded with calls for unity against authoritarian influence.
