Speaking to ANI in Dharamshala, Tibetan Chief Election Commissioner Lobsang Yeshi announced the 45 newly elected members of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile. During the announcement, Yeshi revealed that the Chinese government made concerted efforts to derail the global democratic exercise. Despite these tough challenges and intense campaign debates, Tibetans successfully exercised their voting rights worldwide. The new parliament includes regional and religious representatives, as well as delegates from the Americas, Europe, and Australasia. Yeshi confirmed the electoral process concludes on May 27, with the swearing-in scheduled for May 31, adding that a waitlist is prepared for any sudden vacancies.
